Why has Biden still not visited the Covenant School?!

By Monica Chen It’s been nearly two months since a deranged shooter killed three children and three adults at the Covenant School in Nashville, but President Joe Biden still has not visited the school and the victims. Why? How can that be? To date, only First Lady Jill Biden has met with the victims, when she visited a memorial vigil at the school that Wednesday. When Vice President Kamala Harris went to Tennessee in April, it was to support the “Tennessee Three.” This has been another painful reminder of how the Biden administration often treats the victims of tragedies as nuisances that are getting in the way of their schedules, or worse, outright spits in the face of their grieving families. Late March was a storm of two disasters. One was the tornadoes that ripped through a part of Mississippi on Friday, March 24. The Covenant School shootings then immediately followed and took place on Monday, March 27. Three children, all 9 years old, and three adults — the headmaster, a substitute teacher and a …

Biden’s re-election ad: “Let’s finish the job!” … of destroying this country

By Monica Chen Give the Biden administration – let’s say “credit” — for being this slick and confident about all the lies they spew. This is peak Fascism, Fascism at its most mature. Three main observations about President Joe Biden’s first campaign ad for re-election: 1. Biden has co-opted Trump’s message to a certain extent. Has he done that successfully though? Probably not. 2. The crucial part of this ad is Jan. 6. Without it, everything else falls apart. 3. “Obama’s VP Joe Biden” for 2020 has turned into “working class hero Joe Biden” for 2024. Yes, both in quotation marks.   Here’s my analysis. A humorous take (with some emojis): The ad opens with images of Jan. 6. Chaos! Violence! Danger! Blue, stark, cold colors. Then images of the American flag quickly flash. Suddenly, Joe Biden’s face pops into view and says, “Freedom.” “Personal freedom is fundamental to who we are as Americans.” Yes, it is! But Biden has been trying to destroy that. Right off the bat, Biden co-opts your perspective and uses …

A very telling White House briefing

By Monica Chen Maybe it was because she was in a good mood because the cast of “The L Word” were there, but Karine Jean-Pierre let many things slip at Tuesday’s White House press briefing. The biggest being this eye-opening exchange: Will the president serve all eight years? A reporter asked, referring to President Joe Biden’s age. He is 80. “I’m just not gonna get ahead of the president. That’s something for him to decide. I’m just not gonna get ahead of it.” What? Decide what? Did Biden not announce his re-election bid and launched a slick campaign ad earlier that day? Jean-Pierre threw the public and the media into confusion with that response. Why did she say that? Her answer made no sense. But then people might recall, as I did, the news from a couple months ago: Ah. How is Biden’s health now? Was it just a lesion? Has the cancer spread? Has he, as we watch him stiffly bumble from event to event, declined? Jean-Pierre’s answer would make sense in this context …

Blog post: Wait, what?! Biden’s HHS secretary supports using government funds for sex change operations on children

By Monica Chen  A moment from the House Budget Committee hearing on Wednesday shocked people on social media when the HHS head Xavier Becerra admitted he would use government funds for sex change operations in children.  In the tense exchange, Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., hammered Becerra on what his agency, the Department of Health and Human Services, is doing with “gender-affirming care.” “So for the record, you favor HHS funding being used for sex reassignment for surgeries on minors?” Boebert asked.  Secretary Becerra replied in the affirmative.   “I will do everything I can to defend any American, including children… If they’re talking about gender-affirming care, I’m there to protect the rights of any American,” he said.  The full video here:  More than that moment, the entire stunning exchange laid bare just how politically driven, scientifically empty and lacking in actual healthcare goals the Biden administration’s push for gender-affirming care is. And that “care” is focused on “gender identity,” not actual transgender children.  First, Becerra followed in Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson’s footsteps and could …

Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal is a little too convenient

By Monica Chen  The New York Post’s bombshell story in October 2020 of Hunter Biden’s laptop, full of suspicious emails and much personal debauchery, was not “Russian disinformation” afterall.  The New York Times confirmed on Wednesday that the infamous laptop does belong to Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden.  Buried in a story updating the progress of the Department of Justice investigation on Biden’s taxes, the Times wrote:  People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity. Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation. Conservatives cheered the revelation as White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki tried to shut down questions from reporters this week: No, Hunter Biden isn’t a government employee, but his father is. And when …

First take: Putin calls everyone’s bluffs

By Monica Chen  On Monday, President Vladimir Putin of Russia announced that his government would formally recognize the independence of Ukraine’s Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Russia would also send troops into the region for “peacekeeping.” This came after nearly a week of the Biden administration’s steady drumbeat of a “Russian invasion” in the media despite the scheduled date of invasion, Feb. 16, having come and gone without any sign of trouble. The Biden administration also said he would hold a meeting with Putin soon, supposedly to show off President Joe Biden’s diplomatic skills and talk Putin down from any further invasions. On Monday afternoon, Putin put his foot down: Enough.  Putin’s speech sent shockwaves through the Biden administration, its allies in Europe and elsewhere, and the media that had become used to the public and even political leaders swallowing the warmongering narrative without any pushback.  It was a stunning move.  Everyone expected Putin to keep playing along. He refused. “Show your cards,” his actions said. “You’ve got nothing.”  And he is right.  Let’s look around this …

Rep. David Price “in strong support” of $3.5 trillion Build Back Better plan

By Monica Chen Rep. David Price, D-N.C., has come out in support of President Joe Biden’s $3.5 trillion Build Back Better plan.   Price’s office provided a statement this week in response to media inquiry: “Congressman Price stands in strong support of the Build Back Better Act, a transformative investment in our people and our future. It will assist those historically left behind while combating some of our nation’s most pressing challenges, many of which have been thrown into sharp relief by the pandemic.” North Carolina has been plagued by mishandling of funds related to infrastructure in recent years. In 2020, an audit on the N.C. Department of Transportation found the agency overspent its budget by $742 million in 2019. According to The News & Observer, the Office of the State Auditor found the NCDOT had exceeded its budget of $5.94 billion by 12.5 percent. It got a bailout of $220 million from the state legislature. Price represents the 4th district, which includes Durham, Orange, Franklin and Granville counties, and parts of Wake, Chatham and …

EXCLUSIVE: What happened to “Evacuate Our Allies”?

By Monica Chen The shocking chaos and destruction in Afghanistan has escalated in recent weeks as the Taliban rapidly occupied the country following the sudden and poorly planned withdrawal of the U.S. military. But this withdrawal did not have to happen. For months, an Iraq War veteran pressed the Biden administration and members of Congress to implement an organized plan to evacuate Afghan allies to Guam. The plan, called “Evacuate Our Allies,” identified 18,000 Afghans who had helped the U.S. military, as well as their families, totaling 70,000-80,000 people who needed to be evacuated. It worked out logistics and gathered support from more than a hundred veterans and humanitarian organizations. The governor of Guam also supported evacuation to the U.S. territory. Chris Purdy, who served in Iraq from 2004 to 2011 and is the program manager of Veterans for American Ideals, put together “Evacuate Our Allies.” VFAI is a project of New York-based nonprofit Human Rights First. “Our plan was pretty reasonable, we thought,” Purdy said this week. “We were asking not to create any …

Trump makes rousing comeback speech at NCGOP Convention

By Monica Chen GREENVILLE – Former President Donald Trump returned to North Carolina on Saturday and gave a rousing speech at the N.C. Republican Party Convention, where he blasted President Joe Biden, said critical race theory should be banned, slammed China on COVID-19, spoke on election fraud and his team’s continued legal efforts, and touted his accomplishments in office. Trump also endorsed Rep. Ted Budd, R-N.C., for Richard Burr’s senate seat.Daughter-in-law Lara Trump announced she will not run this year. It was the former president’s first major appearance since leaving office, and he delivered the speech in a more low-key manner than at his campaignrallies. However, Trump did not hold back in criticizing Democrats and inparticular the Far Left. “It’s great to be back in Greenville with so many proud North Carolinapatriots who love our country, support our military, respect our police, honorour flag and always put America first. We don’t put America second,” Trump said in kicking off his speech. And Trump immediately criticized the Left. “They stick together. They don’thave some of the people …

Blog post: Impeachment articles have been filed against Joe Biden. What happened in 2016 with Hunter Biden and the Ukrainian prosecutor who was fired?

One day after Joe Biden was inaugurated as the 46th president of the United States, he is getting impeached. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a freshman Congresswoman from Georgia, announced Thursday afternoon she had filed the impeachment articles against Biden, making good on a promise she had made on social media. Greene said in her announcement that the action is being taken because of Biden and his son Hunter Biden’s activities in Ukraine, specifically having to do with possibly getting Ukraine’s top prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired in 2016 because he had an active investigation into Burisma, the energy company on whose board Hunter Biden was serving. “President Joe Biden is unfit to hold the office of the Presidency. His pattern of abuse of power as President Obama’s Vice President is lengthy and disturbing. President Biden has demonstrated that he will do whatever it takes to bail out his son, Hunter, and line his family’s pockets with cash from corrupt foreign energy companies,” the news release stated. “President Biden is even on tape admitting to a quid pro …
